It Took So Long was a song inspired by the Biblical book of Proverbs. It also asks a lot of philosophical questions about charity and death. Musically, I think Stevie Wonder really had a profound influence on me when I wrote this. Lyrically, I would have to say Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons heavily influenced the poetic aspect of the lyrics.
